➤ Round Table at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty city, Kazakhstan June 11, 2026
➤ A Round Table on “India–Central Asia: Retrospect and Prospects” was organised in New Delhi on November 23, 2018. The discussion covered geopolitical developments in Central Asia, including post-Soviet transitions, energy geopolitics, regional connectivity, and evolving roles of major powers such as Russia, China, the United States, and the European Union. The importance of initiatives like the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and regional infrastructure development was highlighted.
➤ An International Round Table on Afghanistan was organised by ICAF on July 7, 2012 in New Delhi. Nineteen experts from India and Afghanistan participated, with fourteen presentations delivered. Discussions focused on:
- Afghan perceptions of the emerging security scenario (post-2014 phase)
- Status of the reconciliation process
- Role of different groups/organizations in future stability
- Capability of ANSF and Afghan Police by 2014
- Reconstruction strategy in southern provinces
- India’s role in Afghanistan
The Round Table included four working sessions: Inaugural Session, Security Scenario, Reconciliation Process, and Reconstruction Strategy for Afghanistan.
➤ ICAF organised a Round Table with the Centre for Strategic Studies, JNU on “The Current Crisis in Kyrgyz Republic” on July 27, 2010 at the School of International Studies, JNU, New Delhi. The discussion focused on the political situation in Kyrgyz Republic and India–Kyrgyz relations.
➤ ICAF and the Embassy of Turkmenistan, New Delhi jointly organised a Round Table on “Turkmenistan and the United Nations: Partnership for Peace & Development” on November 12, 2009 at the India International Centre, New Delhi.
➤ ICAF organised a Round Table on “India–Tajikistan Relations” with the Centre for Strategic Research (CSR), Dushanbe on July 4, 2009 at the India International Centre, New Delhi. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in political, economic, and security domains. The concept of Integrated Development Zones (IDZs) was appreciated by Prof Sayfullo S. Safarov, Deputy Director, CSR, Dushanbe.
➤ ICAF organised a Round Table on “Developments in Afghanistan” with Uzbek scholars Prof Forkhod Tolipov and Mr Mahmud Oybek on January 31, 2009 in New Delhi.
➤ ICAF organised a Round Table with the visiting Tajik Economic Delegation and members of the India–Tajik Joint Commission on Economic, Scientific and Trade Cooperation on November 20, 2008 at the India International Centre, New Delhi. Issues of mutual interest were discussed, and the concept of Integrated Development Zones (IDZs) was appreciated by H.E. Mr. G. Bobozoda, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan. Both sides emphasised stronger cooperation in political, economic, and security areas.
➤ ICAF organised another Round Table on “Perspectives of Central Asian Republics on International Affairs” at the India International Centre, New Delhi on March 29, 2006. The discussion was initiated by Mr Dmitri Kosyrev, RIA Novosti, Moscow, a Political Columnist (Asian Affairs). Earlier, he served as Chief of the Foreign News Section and Editor of the Diplomatic Courier supplement of Nezavisimaya Gazeta (1997–2001).
➤ ICAF organised a Round Table on “Andijon and After” on October 24, 2005 at 1600 h at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi. There was a screening of a video tape seized from militants. Prof Saydakmal S Saydaminov, Charge d’ Affaires a.i., Uzbek Embassy, New Delhi briefed the gathering on the extra-regional affiliations of militant organisations involved in the incidents.
